Drachen steigen lassen – Hoffnung schenken: Charity-Auktion für Kinder in UgandaEin handgefertigter Drachen, gebaut mit Herz und Können, wird zum Symbol für Hoffnung: In der Facebook-Gruppe „Drachen Gebrauchtmarkt“ läuft derzeit eine charitybasierte Online-Auktion, deren Erlös vollständig an eine Dorfschule mit Waisenhaus im ugandischen Nakyessa gespendet wird. Der Drachen wurde liebevoll gebaut – ersteigert werden kann er jetzt online. Ein Unikat für einen guten ZweckBei dem Auktionsobjekt handelt es sich um eine 8 m² große KAP Foil, die von Ernst Lantenhammer aus Rosenheim gefertigt und während des diesjährigen International Kitefliers Meeting auf Fanø gespendet. Der komplette Erlös der Auktion kommt der Dorfschule in Nakyessa, Uganda, zugute – genauer gesagt den 170 Kindern, die dort lernen. 50 von ihnen sind Waisen. Sie leben, schlafen und lernen direkt auf dem Schulgelände. Mehr als ein Projekt – eine HerzensangelegenheitHinter dem Projekt steht Justine Kityo – geboren in Uganda, ausgebildet als Kultursoziologin und Krankenschwester, inzwischen mit dänischem Pass. Sie engagiert sich unermüdlich für die Schule und die Kinder vor Ort. Nakyessa liegt etwa zwei Stunden von der Hauptstadt Kampala entfernt – ein kleiner, ruhiger Ort. Doch für die Kinder ist es ein Ort der Geborgenheit: Es gibt warmes Essen, Fürsorge und eine Perspektive. Hier wird an der Zukunft gearbeitet – mit einfachsten Mitteln, aber viel Hingabe. Flying Kites, Spreading Hope: Charity Auction for Children in UgandaA handmade kite, crafted with skill and heart, is becoming a symbol of hope: currently, an official charity auction is running in the Facebook group “Drachen Gebrauchtmarkt” (Used Kite Market), where all proceeds will go to support a rural school and orphanage in Nakyessa, Uganda. The kite was lovingly built – and now it can be yours. A One-of-a-Kind Kite for a Good CauseThe item up for auction is a 8 m² KAP foil, handcrafted by Ernst Lantenhammer from Rosenheim, Germany and generously donated during this year’s International Kitefliers Meeting on Fanø. The entire auction amount will be donated directly to a village school in Nakyessa, Uganda, where 170 children between the ages of 7 and 14 are currently enrolled. 50 of them are orphans who live, sleep, and learn on the school grounds. More Than a Project – A Matter of the HeartBehind this initiative is Justine Kityo – born and raised in Uganda, trained as a cultural sociologist and nurse, now also a Danish citizen. She is the heart and soul of the initiative, working tirelessly to make sure “her” 170 children in Nakyessa are cared for and supported. Nakyessa is a quiet rural village about two hours from the capital, Kampala. But it is also a place of hope: a safe space where children receive warm meals, education, attention – and a future.
